Imagine a whole town, but instead of people, it's all red pandas! Sadly, there are only about 10,000 red pandas left in the whole wide world, which means they're endangered and need our help to grow their families and thrive.
Red pandas live in high-up forests with lots of bamboo, which is their main food. When people cut down these trees for farms, houses, or wood, red pandas lose their homes and the food they need to survive.
Being done about itScientists and park rangers are working hard to protect these special forests and plant new trees where red pandas live. They also teach local communities how to share the land without harming the red pandas' homes.
Sadly, some red pandas are illegally caught and sold as pets, or hunted for their beautiful fur. This means fewer red pandas are left in the wild to have babies and keep their population strong.
