Bycatch / Overfishing
Imagine big fishing nets meant for other ocean creatures. Sometimes, our special Winghead Sharks get tangled in these nets by mistake, which is called 'bycatch,' or too many of them are caught on purpose, which is 'overfishing.'
Being done about itScientists are working with fishermen to use smarter fishing nets that let sharks swim free, and governments are setting rules about how many sharks can be caught to help their populations grow.
