Habitat loss
Giraffes need lots of open space and tall trees to find all the leaves they eat. When people cut down forests to build farms or houses, giraffes lose their homes and their dinner.
Being done about itScientists and conservationists are working to protect large areas of land where giraffes live, creating special parks and reserves. They are also planting new trees to help giraffes find more food and safe places to roam.
