It has glossy black tips on its wings, like little exclamation points, and a super cool, bright blue mask around its eyes. Bali Mynas live in special forests on the island of Bali, but sadly, people are cutting down these trees to make farms or build houses. This leaves the mynas with nowhere safe to live, find food, or build their nests.
Being done about itConservationists are working to protect the remaining forests where Bali Mynas live and are even planting new trees to grow back their homes. They are also creating safe, protected areas where the birds can live without fear.
Luckily, many amazing people are on a special mission to save them! Zoos around the world are working hard to breed Bali Mynas safely, and then some of these baby birds are carefully released back into protected areas in Bali, giving them a second chance to fly free and thrive.
